Something that bothers me about attending ASU, or rather something that bothers me from other people is this:
“You go to ASU? Oh isn’t that a party school?”
“Oh I know ASU! I saw them on the top party schools list!”
Well look at this list! We are a Top producers of Fulbright Student. Please note the company we are keeping as well.
Arizona State University may be known as a “party school.” That is part of being part of a NCAA Rank 1 school in the PAC 12 Conference. Our Greek life is thriving.
You want a true description of my university?:
Arizona State University is a Tier 1, Research institution, located in one of the largest metropolitan, Phoenix. ASU has over 50, 000 students all from different walks of life from all 50 US State and over 30 countries.
I manage the Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative (FURI). Today we have our annual Research Symposium that highlighted 120 students research projects. It is amazing the research our students are doing. ASU encourages undergraduate research and not many institutions do that. I wish I could go more in detail about the students’ projects, but there are so many of them that I can never keep track and certainly do it justice. When the story on the Symposium comes out on the website, I will be sure to post it.
What I am trying to say here is that ASU isn’t a party school. If you receive a degree is worth the same as every other institution (ok I can understand IVY leagues being “valued” more). Don’t be ashamed to be Sun Devil! Embrace it!
Sun Devil Pride! I know I have it!
